March 8, 2017

Hey y’all! My name is Annie Arnold and I am the Leadership Chair on the 2017 Panhellenic Executive Board! This week our Panhellenic meeting was held at the Alpha Phi House. Our Vice President of Organization and Judicial Board Chair, Katie Conway, held a Judicial Board mock trial for the full council. They were given an example of a scenario that the Judicial Board would typically face with a chapter and then went on to explain how they would handle the situation and determine consequences for that said chapter. It was very beneficial to the council to see how the J-Board process works!

This month we are in the process of putting on “Month of the Woman.” Hannah Went, our Programming Chair, has organized an event to attend which is a UK Women’s Tennis match that will be held on March 31st at 6:00 p.m. In addition to this, we will also be hosting an event with NPHC, IFC and UGC on March 29th in Memorial Hall where speaker Logan Davis will be talking about Domestic Violence Awareness. Be sure to be on the lookout for more events coming up during Month of the Woman!

At the end of the month, Dean West and I will be taking the Panhellenic Council delegates to the Coalition for Collegiate Women’s Leadership, formerly known as the South Eastern Panhellenic Conference. This conference gives the chapter delegates an opportunity to develop strong leadership skills that they can bring back not only to their respective chapters, but our Panhellenic Council as well. I have also placed each member of the full council on a committee to implement the NPC report suggestions and they will be assigned to those committees after spring break.

Amy Nutt, our Diversity and Inclusion Chair, is organizing a Women’s Day of Service that will be held on March 26th. On this day, the Panhellenic community will be going to a local nonprofit organization to serve the Lexington community. She is also in the process of selecting applicants to serve on her committee this semester! The application closes the Friday of Spring Break, interviews will be held the week of March 20th, and the first meeting will be March 29th at 8 p.m.

We hope y’all have a fun and safe Spring Break next week! Enjoy the sunshine and your time off!
