A Word From Our President

Alpha Delta Pi has been a home for intentional, determined, and compassionate women at the University of Kentucky since 1941. Over the past 84 years, we have welcomed over 3,166 women into our chapter that embody our motto "We Live For Each Other." Here, we provide women with a sisterhood that lasts far beyond their collegiate years and empowers them to reach their full potential through the pursuit of our values of Sisterhood, Knowledge, Character, and Service.

Throughout my time in ADPi, I’ve had the privilege of being surrounded by and learning from the most inspirational and intelligent leaders I have ever met. I am continually amazed by all their accomplishments. ADPi’s hold numerous executive officer positions in organizations across campus, intern with government leaders, publish books, receive national recognition on research findings, travel to other countries to offer medical care, and so much more. I feel so privileged to have so many role models to look to for guidance and encouragement. Being in a chapter with women who constantly work to improve themselves and their communities and who dedicate so much of their time in service of others has motivated me to do my best in whatever I undertake.

Beyond being servant leaders, these women are fearlessly loyal. On your best days and during your greatest accomplishments, they are the loudest cheerleaders in the room. However, our sisterhood goes farther than the best days, because these women will walk right alongside you throughout the hardest times. Having the kinds of friends that understand you and notice when you’re struggling without you having to speak a word is a comfort that I hope every woman gets to experience. It is so special to have this kind of support system during the first years of your adult life when you are still deciding the kind of person you wish to be.

At Alpha Delta Pi, we believe that our sorority is more than just a ritual or symbol: that it is a way of life. ADPi goes beyond our college campus and Lexington. It goes beyond graduation and lasts all throughout our lives. This is exactly what I was searching for when I went through Primary Recruitment. It is crazy to think that now I not only experience those relationships myself, but that I have been blessed with the opportunity to serve my chapter as President.

To any ADPi’s reading this, the trust that you have placed in me is the greatest honor I have received in my life, thus far. Everyday you make me proud to wear my letters, and I feel so lucky I get to share them with women as authentic, courageous, and generous as you. I promise to stay true to our values and prioritize our sisterhood throughout my term, ensuring that each one of you has the opportunity to excel in your academic and professional careers while strengthening your bonds to our chapter during your time as a collegian. It is my hope that when you walk across the graduation stage you have enjoyed a college experience worth missing.

To anyone reading this who may not have found a place where they feel seen or heard, I encourage you to keep searching for your home. Consider who you want to be at the end of your collegiate experience and the life you want to lead after graduation, and choose to surround yourself with people that have your same values and who will help you achieve those goals. Panhellenic women are remarkable, innovative, trustworthy, and compassionate. My experience within the Panhellenic community has shaped my college experience and I am so glad I have another year to experience everything Kentucky Panhellenic has to offer.

Truly honored and excited for the year to come,

Mallory Brown
